Warm up a chilly winter night with an Eggnog Latte Martini….or two.  😉 It’s my favorite Christmas Eve tradition!

For me, eggnog is a symbol of Christmas time, right up there with Santa, trees, music and lights!    Each year when we decorated our Christmas tree my mom would get out our fancy Spode Christmas mugs and we would get to drink eggnog while decorating the house.  We also had to listen to Andy Williams Christmas CDs—tradition!!!

^^^ Getting the family Christmas tree.  I’m gonna need another martini!

This year while we decorated our tree I shared this tradition with David.  He was a little concerned, asking “why did Grandma make you drink eggnog?”  Because it’s delicious!  Especially the dairy free versions.  I think I’ve tried just about every brand of non dairy eggnog now. Our staple is Silk Soy Nog.  I also like Califia’s Almond Nog, but we’re nut free at home.  So Delicious is another easy to find brand and I like it, but it’s a little richer.  To me, Silk tastes closest to what I remember.

This year I decided to kick things up a notch with an eggnog martini—I mean, have you ever tried decorating with a 4 year old?  You’re gonna need a little extra kick!  So I reached for my favorite Three Olives Cake vodka.  Seriously—it tastes just like a slice of cake!   I first heard about it in VegNews Magazine several years ago and immediately had to track it down—it’s delicious!  The addition of Kahlua gives it a subtle and sweet coffee taste and the triple sec rounds it out—this is dessert in a glass!

So what are we waiting for?  Let’s get shakin’!  Mix up one of these Eggnog Latte Martinis for your guests at your Christmas party, while you’re decorating, or even for a cozy weekend in!  And when you do make it, take a picture, post it on Instagram, and tag it with { #frieddandelions // @frieddandelions }  I would LOVE to see your pictures!!!
