This Vegan Eggnog Punch is an instant throwback to Christmas parties past, with a grown up kick!
My mom is known in her circles to be quite the hostess. Every year, for as long as I can remember, she and my dad have thrown epic sized Christmas parties and 4th of July BBQs. And one of the staples for her Christmas parties was her Eggnog Punch. I asked her about it recently, and she told me that the recipe came from her friend Annette, who got the recipe from her dad Clyde. Curious, I took to Google, discovering that it seems everyone had a dad with a secret family Eggnog Punch recipe. And this year it’s going vegan!
Vegan Eggnog Punch
At first glance, Eggnog Punch sounds pretty horrific. It starts with a scoop of Candy Cane ice cream. Then it is topped with eggnog, vodka for those who dare, and ginger ale. The flavors seem to make absolutely no sense at all. But a quick stir later and you are in Christmas Party heaven. Don’t ask me how. It just works! You’ll love this Vegan Eggnog Punch!
Candy Cane Ice Cream
I LOVE using my homemade Candy Cane Ice Cream in this recipe! My parent’s used to use store bought peppermint ice cream, but I haven’t seen a dairy free version in stores. If you are in a crunch for time, simply use store bought vegan vanilla ice cream, soften it a tiny bit, and mix in a bunch of crushed candy canes! No one will notice (maybe that’s because of the vodka?)!
Vodka
Three Olives Cake vodka is my favorite “vanilla” vodka to use in sweet drinks! It’s delicious in my Eggnog Latte Martini! If you can’t find that, any vanilla vodka will do. And no, before you wonder, my parent’s version never had alcohol in it! With so many kids running around, their parties were about as G rated as you could get!
Look how easy it is to make Vegan Eggnog Punch!

So fun, Sarah! So many parties of the 70’s & 80’s involved punch with ice cream. I wonder when that tradition went away? Regardless, this looks like a delicious way to revive it!
Yes, we need to bring it back!!! All the ice cream!!!
Wow it’s so festive! I’m not really an eggnog fan but I think with all of the other flavours and the booze, I could easily get on board with this!
I bet you could sub in some soy or coconut milk and just make a really creamy peppermint drink!
What a festive beverage! I love the candy cane garnish and ginger ale!
Yes! Sparkling and fizzy! So yummy!
Oh my gosh, this looks amazing!! I’m so intrigued by this flavor combination!
