I am a wife to my husband Irving, and a busy mom to 5 year old David (pronounced in Spanish after my husband’s Dominican heritage…Da-veed) and 2 year old Jonathan! I am a former graphic designer and high school art teacher, and now enjoy cooking as my creative outlet. I am lucky to live with 3 boys who are all adventurous eaters, and allow me time to experiment in the kitchen. In fact, my 5 year old might like being in the kitchen more than I do! My little boys and I follow a vegan diet; my husband is still technically a supportive omnivore. We’re working on it! 🙂
I first started this blog because I am notorious for changing recipes on the fly, and then forgetting the changes I made. Irving helped me to get this site up and running because he wanted a way to track my recipes so he could request his favorites again and again!
Four years later I still enjoy sharing my recipes, and I especially love showing non vegans how delicious “vegan food” can be. I say vegan food in quotes as I really hate the compulsion to label it. Food is food—you never ask someone if they enjoy “omnivore cake” so why the need to label foods vegan?
I also love to connect with readers via social media. I have met so many interesting people and enjoy the opportunity to engage in conversations, share tips about new products, and even learn about new cooking techniques through the people I connect with. You can find me on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, or Bloglovin’ or send me an email!
