Green Boy Smoothie

green-boy-smoothieOur dinners were looking a little monochromatic so I made a quick green smoothie for David and I (hopefully this will make up for the Bailey’s 🙂 ). He said “Mommy, this is not a Green Monster Smoothie, this is a Green Boy Smoothie.”

Green Boy Smoothie
1 c water
3 c spinach
4 dates, pitted
1 apple, peel still on
1 frozen banana
ice or more water if you like a thicker/thinner smoothie

Blend 1 c water with 2 huge handfuls of spinach (about 3 cups) and 4 pitted dates.  This is the key to a green smoothie—blend your greens first to get them really smooth, otherwise you have chunks of spinach!

Then add 1 apple (peel on) and 1 frozen banana. Blend again and enjoy!

David is inhaling this!
