Head back to school safely with Allergy Friendly Snacks from Abe’s Muffins!
A big thank you to Abe’s Muffins for sponsoring this post! All opinions are mine!
Last month the PR people over at my favorite muffin company (why yes, I do have a favorite muffin company!) reached out to me to see if I would be interested in receiving a sample box of their products. Trying to hold back my excitement I quickly responded that yes, I was very interested!!! I then ran and told the boys, who now think that their mom is a superhero, you know, getting paid in muffins and all! We eagerly awaited the highly anticipated muffin delivery day, and it did not disappoint! Having a refrigerated box of muffins arrive on your doorstep is basically what dreams are made of! Abe’s Muffins have been a favorite of our family for nearly two years, since we discovered them at one of our local grocery stores! They are NUT FREE which is so important to us (read more about Jonny’s allergies here)! They are also vegan (of course!), and soy free. The best part? They are TRULY DELICIOUS! A favorite of our whole family.
Allergy Friendly Snacks (and Abe’s Story)
Yep, there is a real live Abe! His dad and uncle had a commercial bakery when he was a kid, but due to his allergies to nuts, soy, dairy, and eggs, Abe couldn’t enjoy any of the treats that they made. So they started an allergy friendly company that is entirely free of nuts, soy, dairy, and eggs. Sounds like a perfect allergy friendly snack for my favorite 4 year old!
^^^ We love “safe for Jonny” treats!
^^^ Bonus: they are the perfect size for kid hands!
Family Favorite
Over the summer the boys and I did some hiking and adventure days with our friends. Each adventure started with driving a couple of hours—up to the mountains, out to the ocean—you name it, we were up for a day of fun! Because we were heading out earlier than our normal summer sleepyhead hours, we often planned to eat breakfast in the car. The boys took turns picking out different flavors of muffins to enjoy! I’m pretty sure the boys now see muffins as being synonymous with hiking!
Back to School
Abe’s Muffins are a perfect allergy friendly snack for back to school. With so many flavors, you can choose a different one for every part of the day! Start the morning with a muffin and fruit for breakfast. Pop a muffin into a lunchbox for a lunchtime treat! Stash a box in the car for hungry kiddos to munch on between school and after school sports practice. Parents—treat yourself during the calm before the storm while your kids are at school—the coffee cake is to die for! Whatever your day looks like, Abe’s muffins will be a perfect addition!
^^^ Lunch is always more fun with a treat!
^^^ Doing the dash from school to martial arts practice!
School Birthday Parties
Jonny headed back to preschool last week. His school is really amazing about handling allergies (his whole school is entirely nut free!). Jonny is also allergic to eggs, and we are vegan by choice, so I make sure to send in Jonny’s snacks, as well as birthday treats. Last year I tried to send some gummy fruit treats for him to enjoy on birthday party days, but they just don’t have the same pizazz as a cupcake. So this year we sent in a box of the chocolate chip muffins to store in his preschool freezer. Whenever another child celebrates their birthday in class, Jonny can safely enjoy a chocolate chip muffin (did I mention, Abe’s Muffins freeze and thaw like a dream!). Spoiler alert: I will also be sending in a box of chocolate chip muffins to share with the class when it’s Jonny’s turn to celebrate his birthday!
^^^ Packed and ready to go to school! Everyone should keep some muffins in their backpack!
Hello Fall!
While I had seen many of the flavors that Abe’s Muffins sent to us, the seasonal fall flavors were new to me. And oh boy are they yummy! Apple and pumpkin and cranberry, oh my!
Coffee Cake
The Coffee Cakes have got to be my favorite. They are really, really delicious! They also come packaged in a pretty little paper loaf pan, so that once you remove the label you could totally pass them off as homemade! A slice of coffee cake and a cup of iced coffee while the boys are at school is a taste of heaven!
So Many Flavors!
I’m having a little trouble choosing a favorite!
- Blueberry
- Chocolate Chip
- Cranberry Orange
- Pumpkin
- Apple Cider
- Devils Food
- Sweet Carrot
- Lemon Poppy
- Cornbread

Love all the photos!!
How sweet are they? We are looking for some “asian style” snacks, that isnt much sweet as American taste…
Hmmm….these definitely fall into the sweet treat category! But David also loves to bring packs of seaweed in his lunch! One of his fave treats, even though it’s not something I enjoy! 🙂
