I can hardly believe that it has been a year since my first blog post! I started this blog to share recipes with my friends, keep track of things I’d come up with in the kitchen, and answer the question for everyone of “what do vegans eat?” I had no idea that I would be able to reach over 1,000 people, making virtual friends with vegans and veggie lovers all over the world. It’s been a busy year.
I don’t know about you, but even though I like all of my recipes, I have a few favorite posts, and I refer to my own recipes every time too! I love love love my hummus recipe! Inspired by our trip to the Dominican Republic, it brings me back every time!
I also make my Hippie Breakfast Bowl on a regular basis—so yummy, filling, healthy and versatile!
David adores Triangle Tofu—my spin on a sweet and sour tofu dish.
You can never go wrong, especially in the summer, with Tomato Basil Pasta Sauce. It’s sure to be a hit with even your most omni guests!
And for dessert—too many choices! I love my Chocolate Spiced Pudding, mini Apple Pies, and my Pumpkin Spiced Trifle. But if I had to pick just one it would probably be my Coconut Almond Tart with Caramel and Fruit Filling!
When I first started this blog my dad asked me, in the nicest way possible, who would read this? The answer is all of you! And to thank you all for your faithful support, I have a free download for you! You might not know that before I was a blogger and a mom and a high school art teacher, I was a graphic designer, and I still have fun playing around on the computer. So I have created a Kitchen Quote print for all of you to download and print for your own kitchen if you’d like. This quote fits me perfectly—I have a teeny tiny galley kitchen and still, no matter what, everyone always tries to cram in there to help, visit, and chat! My mom has had this wooden plaque in her kitchen for as long as I can remember, and now I will have a fun, new, modern version in mine too—so can you (see below to download)! I hope you like this print—I plan to do more in the near future!
Thanks for a great year! I’m looking forward to kicking off year two of blogging with VeganMoFo—Vegan Month of Food—where I’ll be dedicating the entire month to raising healthy kids (both big and small!). Looking forward to sharing tips, ideas, and new recipes with you!
Notes:
This print is sized to print on a standard 8 ½ x 11 sheet of paper and fit in an 8 x 10 frame. The frame I used can be purchased at Ikea for $9.99.
