Today was a fun day for me in vegan world! This afternoon I received my first Vegan Cuts box. I signed up a few weeks ago to receive a box in exchange for blogging about the contents. I’ll do a full post once I have the change to try all of the goodies in my box. I will say that I was impressed at how many goodies were in the box—I felt like I was opening a present!
I let David pick one item to open and he picked the lentil chips, which he kept calling chocolate chips! We both loved them—they reminded me a bit of pop chips.
This evening I got to go see one of my favorite vegan chefs, Chloe Coscarelli. I had hoped to see her last night when she did a cooking demo in Seattle, but due to a babysitting snafu it didn’t happen. Grandma came to my rescue tonight and watched David so I could head over to the bookstore and see her tonight. She did a brief Q & A and then jumped right into signing and visiting.
As much as I tease about the posts I see on her facebook fans from her “groupies”, I’m afraid I was a bit of one tonight! I shared my picture of David reading her cookbook, and got to chat with her a little bit about this blog and the meaning behind Fried Dandelions, and different recipes I’ve tried from her cookbooks. She was super sweet—that didn’t surprise me—and very friendly. It was a fun night and I was so glad it worked out for me to get to the signing!
All in all a good day!
