All of my favorite Vegan Cookies in one easy round up! Which one will you make first?
‘Twas the weekend before Christmas….and all through the house….my children were shrieking “you promised we could bake cookies!!!” And bake we will! I’ve promised the boys that we can make my mom’s sugar cookies, complete with garish and brightly colored frosting, tons of sprinkles, and they get to use any cookie cutters they want. Hold me. I did insist that I would get to make a few “Mommy cookies” that are pretty and matching! But the rest are up to them. Sigh. I think they’ll love it!
My Favorite Vegan Cookies
The cookies below are some of my very favorites! They’re not all strictly Christmas cookies, but I feel like there’s some flexibility there! Christmas cookies become every day cookies with a tweak of frosting colors and cookie cutter shape. Everyday cookies become Christmas cookies with an overload of sugar, in an effort to mix things up. So pick your favorites, grab your cookie scoop, and get baking! And leave a note in the comments telling me which ones are your favorite vegan cookies!
Sugar Cookies
This recipe has been in my family for years. I mean years and years. The ingredients really set them apart—powdered sugar and cream of tartar keep them light and fluffy, just like those famous ones in the box with the pink frosting! But don’t let that stop you from making them any color that you like! Get the recipe HERE ——>
Sugar and Spice Cookies
Another family classic! My mom used to send me boxes of these when I was in college. 2 days in the mail all covered in frosting was the key to a perfect consistency. They are my favorite! Full of flavor, and a slight twist on a traditional cut out cookie, they will soon be a favorite in your house too! Get the recipe HERE ——>
Bourbon Balls
This recipe comes from my Grandma Henrietta, and is reserved for all the grown ups in the group! They make a special treat for a swanky party—hello New Years’ Eve—but I won’t tell if you’d prefer to make them for an ordinary Thursday. Get the recipe HERE ——>
Black and White Cookies
These cookies are a famous NYC treat! While they don’t scream holidays, they would be a great way to mix things up on a buffet table! And I bet you could add a little food coloring into the white frosting if you wanted to! Get the recipe HERE ——>
Homemade Graham Crackers
Need a break from the sweets? These fun cut out homemade graham crackers have a lot less sugar than your traditional cookie, but are just as much fun! Get the recipe HERE ——>
Vegan Thumbprint Cookies
There’s no reason to keep these just for the holidays! These cookies are great year round—Valentines Day, 4th of July, Tuesdays. Any time! I love making these because they require a lot less mess and attention to detail than a cut out cookie, but the sugar and jam make them look really festive! Get the recipe HERE ——>
